During the late 70's, a new era of Country music had begun. This brand of music was called Outlaw Country. Mike Connolly, Phil Clattenburg and I capitalized on this amazing brand of music. We formed "The Canadian Outlaw Band" and did our very best to live up to the bad boy image. Three fan clubs were formed; one each in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.
At what was to be our musical peak, tragedy struck. Coming home from St. John, New Brunswick, the rear brakes on our van caught fire. Everything we owned in the world was lost in this fire. After having gone 157 weeks without a break, we just didn't have the heart to rebuild. Mike and Phil will always remain brothers of the road! |
